Do I need a new system or can it be repaired?
Often it can be repaired, and we'll say so. Age alone doesn't condemn a system — refrigerant type, compressor condition, coil corrosion and what the repair costs against a replacement all matter. You'll get the numbers for both so you can decide.

Why does attic insulation come up when I called about A/C?
Because a poorly sealed attic in Southwest Florida can sit above 130°F, and your system spends all day fighting it. Sometimes sealing the attic does more for comfort and the power bill than a bigger unit would — and it's usually cheaper.
